I recently [as of the past 2 weeks] started rubbing EVOO into my face, and not rinsing or wiping off, and going to sleep at night. I haven't had a new breakout since. But last night, I laid my cheek on my cotton sheets, then about 15 minutes later, got up to turn the AC on. I touched my cheek that was on the sheets, and it was bone-dry, but the rest of my face was still oily.
I thought to myself, if it dries out oily skin like this, in such a short time, imagine what it does to hair!
So, I let it serve as a reminder to tie my hair down, even for the shortest of naps.

Very true! I didn't realize what I was doing to my hair until about two years ago. I always keep a satin wrap or bonnet on when I sleep. I think I'm going to try silk, because I heard that it is better for you.
Glad you found the importance of a satin scarf. Sometimes I'll just throw on the bonnet if Im just lounging around the house.
The problem with wearing a scarf or bonnet is, they fall off. You're beter off using a satin pillowcase if you want your hair to look and stay healthy. I had heard a lot about them from friends and also from my stylist. She told me that cotton causes friction leaving you with split ends and frizzes and breakage. It also is naturally absorbent so it pulls the moisture from your hair and skin. The combination of dried out hair along with weakened ends due to the friction that cotton creates causes your hair to break and also hair loss. I switched to a satin pillowcase and I’ve seen a huge difference in my hair and my skin. I don’t wake up with those pillowcase lines on my face in the morning either. I found a website that has a page devoted to the benefits of sleeping on satin and they had some absolutely beautiful prints and solid pillowcases. I found a gorgeous pastel flower print. The company is A Touch Of Satin. If you’re interested, their website is http://www.atouchofsatin.com if you want to read about the benefits. Well, I hope this helps you out.
